What can I expect?

If you are new to us, you may want some questions answered before you visit. Here’s a look at what you can expect as you walk through our doors this weekend.

Where do I go?

We find it best to enter through the front door.  I can tell you this, when you arrive you will be greeted by friendly people who will be available to assist you with your children, help you get refreshments, and direct you and your family to the correct meeting spaces.

What should I wear?

We're casual – so you can be too. The staff will mainly be in dress jeans or slacks. If you are more inclined to wear Sunday's best, that is fine with us.  We have people who are very comfortable all the way to ‘business casual’. We don’t really care what you wear, we just care about you!

What time does the service start, and what should I expect?

Worship starts at 10:45 am, but coffee, bagels, and donuts will be available in the Fellowship Hall so plan to be here early.

The worship team will play a song and then a smiling face will welcome you and give some helpful instruction and pray over the service. After a few more songs of worship and a time of prayer in the alters the worship will conclude. Then the pastor will deliver a message that is carefully designed with people just like you in mind: real people, looking for real answers to issues they face every day, all of which incorporate God’s timeless truths from the Bible that speak to where you’re living today. After the message, you’ll have an opportunity to respond, then you will be sent off with a blessing. *You can expect the Worship Service to last about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Please feel free to stay, enjoy refreshments, and sign up for the next Growth Track event. Also, during this time the staff will be accessible for prayer and individual encouragement if you desire.

What about my kids?

Once your child checks in, Our children’s ministry, BethelKidz, provides an exciting experience for infants through 5th grade. This allows you to get the most from your experience while your child is receiving high levels of care, attention, age-appropriate teaching, and fun!

Oh, and the children’s workers team will be wearing a BehelKidz staff t-shirt so that you can easily identify them.

How about my teenagers – what is there for them?

Our student ministry, BreakThrough Youth, meets for monthly hangouts, and summer camp each year. Soon we will be launching break-out groups at various locations and homes where there will always be food, an Interactive study of life issues and Biblical answers, *plus an opportunity to hang out and meet new friends.

How can I become involved?

Becoming involved is, well, pretty simple here. We’ve boiled it down to five simple steps:

01. Begin attending regularly.

02. Express Interest

03. Attend the Growth Track Event.

04. Make a difference by becoming one of our valued volunteers.

05. Get involved in one of many Growth Groups during the week.

The Vision/Mission

A PLACE TO CALL HOME,

A FAMILY WHERE YOU BELONG!

The Vision of our church is to be a Growing FAMILY of devoted Jesus followers impacting the lives of people far from God and leading them to be lifelong Christians in Clovis, Texico, Portales, Melrose, and around the world.

THIS IS WHERE FAMILY HAPPENS!

The Mission of Bethel Assembly is to BUILD FAMILY!

A FAMILY that; LOVES God with everything, CONNECTS in real relationships, GROWS closer to God, SERVES those in need, and LEADS the way!

So, what does this mean to you?

How does it fit into the church?

What We Believe

THIS IS A SUMMARY STATEMENT OF OUR BELIEFS

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write words of Scripture. The New Testament is our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.

The fruits of the Spirit are the by-product of a Spirit-filled life and are evidence of spiritual maturity. The baptism in the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are given to empower, encourage, and build up the body. We are instructed to diligently seek the gifts, and use them in Biblical order and in the context of love.

We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God through his own effort.

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for his sin. One who physically dies in his sins without Christ is eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel of repenting.

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word and being baptized in the Holy Spirit, every believer will mature and receive the power to be a witness in this world.

We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to a lost world.

We believe the two scriptural ordinances of a New Testament church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We follow our Lord’s command to give public evidence of our salvation with baptism by water and faithfully remember Christ’s cleansing blood and broken body with the elements of Holy Communion.

Breakthrough offers various hangout opportunities each month, trips to Summer Camp, and Fine Arts Convention, and Soon we will be launching Break-Out Groups at various locations and homes where there will always be food, and an Interactive study of life issues and Biblical answers. So if you are in junior high or high school check it out and spend some time with other students your age!
